Softball Recap: Fort Frye Has No Trouble Against Frontier

Fort Frye won the last time they faced Frontier and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Cadets' pitcher stepped up to hand the Cougars an 11-0 shutout. That looming 11-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Cadets yet this season.

Elle Casto made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. Casto was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Those three hits gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Fort Frye let Madeline Morganstern and Faith Treadway run wild. Morganstern went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one triple, while Treadway went 4-for-5 with three doubles, one stolen base, and one run. Those three doubles gave Treadway a new career-high. Christy Willis also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Fort Frye was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .486. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

The win got Fort Frye back to even at 7-7. As for Frontier, their loss dropped their record down to 9-11.

Fort Frye has already played their next game, an 11-0 defeat against Warren on the 23rd. As for Frontier, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, an 8-5 loss against Shenandoah on the 22nd.
