Baseball Recap: Van Horn Comes Up Short

Van Horn had lost three straight on the road, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 11-13 to make it four. They came up short against the Pembroke Hill Raiders, falling 10-0. If the Falcons were looking for revenge after losing 5-2 to the Raiders when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Pembroke Hill, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-4-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games.

For Pembroke Hill's part, Miles Washington was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Passan, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Van Horn will take on Summit Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Eagles' pitching crew has only allowed 2.6 runs per game this season, so the Falcons' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Pembroke Hill, they will face off against Rockhurst at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
