Basketball Recap: Simi Valley Comes Up Short

Simi Valley lost against Oak Park last Wednesday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Simi Valley Pioneers lost to the Oak Park Eagles on the road by a 58-43 margin. The Pioneers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why Simi Valley lost, don't look at Derek Maclean. Despite the final result, he went 7 of 11 on his way to 18 points. Those 18 points gave Maclean a new career-high. Andrew Oglivie was another key player, putting up four points and eight rebounds.

Simi Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 10-15. As for Oak Park, their victory bumped their record up to 8-16.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Simi Valley will venture away from home to take on Moorpark at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Oak Park, they will head out to face off against Royal at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
