Baseball Recap: St. Mary's Springs Drops Season-High Score on Madison East

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask St. Mary's Springs). They were the clear victors by a 15-2 margin over the Madison East Purgolders on Saturday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Ledgers with their most commanding win of the season.

Kale Krusick made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Krusick was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs and one stolen base. Those three runs gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Jaxon Sabel and Carter Bartelt did most of the damage at the plate: Sabel went 1-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base, while Bartelt went 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI Sabel has posted since back in April. Jax Lenz also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

St. Mary's Springs kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Madison East only managed five hits.

The win got St. Mary's Springs back to even at 10-10. As for Madison East, their loss dropped their record down to 1-24.
