Basketball Recap: Dayton Korth and Cade Johnson Secure Win for Laurel-Concord-Coleridge

You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Laurel-Concord-Coleridge's strategy against West Holt on Saturday. The Bears enjoyed a cozy 61-42 win over the Huskies. For the Bears, this counts as revenge for the 61-44 victory the Huskies walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February.

Leading Laurel-Concord-Coleridge to victory were Cade Johnson and Dayton Korth. Johnson almost dropped a double-double with 26 points and nine boards, while Korth almost dropped a double-double with 13 points and nine rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Johnson a new career-high in assists (four). Tanner Thompson was another key player, putting up six points and five boards.

Despite the loss, West Holt saw an underclassman step up: freshman Grant Poessnecker went 7-for-16 en route to 15 points and eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Carson Weineke, who posted seven points.

The win got Laurel-Concord-Coleridge back to even at 1-1. As for West Holt, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.
