Softball Game Preview: Troy Trojans vs. Arcanum Trojans

Troy will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Arcanum at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Last Saturday, Troy made easy work of Chaminade Julienne Catholic and carried off an 18-8 victory.

Troy let Mimi Shaw and Amayah Kennedy run wild. Shaw went 2-for-3 with five stolen bases, five RBI, and one run, while Kennedy went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most RBI Kennedy has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Riley King, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

They weren't the only ones working in the hit department: Troy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Chaminade Julienne Catholic only managed ten hits.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Arcanum). They were the clear victors by a 17-8 margin over Beavercreek on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Trojans.

The win got Arcanum back to even at 2-2. As for Troy, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.
