Basketball Game Preview: Nokomis Warriors vs. Skowhegan River Hawks

The Nokomis Warriors are taking a road trip to take on the Skowhegan River Hawks at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Nokomis and 12 for Skowhegan dating back to last season.

On Thursday, Nokomis opened the new year with a less-than-successful 55-47 defeat to Messalonskee.

Meanwhile, Skowhegan ended up a good deal behind Gardiner on Thursday and lost 55-38.

Skowhegan's loss dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Nokomis, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-6.

Nokomis strolled past Skowhegan in their previous meeting back in January of 2024 by a score of 69-54. The rematch might be a little tougher for Nokomis since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
