Baseball Recap: Suwannee Wins Going Away Against Chiles

Suwannee hadn't done well against Chiles recently (they were 1-7 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Suwannee Bulldogs were the clear victor by a 7-1 margin over the Chiles Timberwolves. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won four contests by six runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on W. Grayson Bonds, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with four RBI and two doubles. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Kyler Watson was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

The victory made it two in a row for Suwannee and bumps their season record up to 6-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Chiles, they now have a losing record of 5-6.

Coming up, Suwannee will head out on the road to square off against Newberry at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Newberry is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.3 runs per game this season. As for Chiles, they will face off against St. John Paul II at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. St. John Paul II's pitching crew has only allowed 1.7 runs per game this season, so Chiles' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
