Wilson Hall scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 53-50 win over Laurence Manning Academy. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win Wilson Hall has posted yet this season.
Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Trinity Collegiate's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell just short of Hammond by a score of 52-50. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat Trinity Collegiate has suffered yet this season.
Despite their loss, Trinity Collegiate saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Autumn Kind, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Makayla Legette, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and four steals.
Even though they lost, Trinity Collegiate smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. This was only their first loss (out of six games) when they hit their own glass that hard.
Wilson Hall's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-5. As for Trinity Collegiate, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-4.
Wilson Hall was taken down by Trinity Collegiate 67-18 in their previous matchup on January 5th. The match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Wilson Hall was down 36-7.
