Preview: Waite Indians vs. Northwood Rangers
The Waite Indians's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Northwood Rangers at 7:30 p.m. on January 22nd. Waite comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last nine games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
Waite suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Monday. They were dealt a 60-12 defeat at the hands of Firestone. Waite was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 45-2.
Meanwhile, Northwood beat Crestline 36-28 on Thursday. The victory was just what Northwood needed coming off of a 57-26 loss in their prior matchup.
Waite's loss was their ninth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 1-9. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 12.8 points per game. As for Northwood, their victory bumped their record up to 7-3.
Waite took a serious blow against Northwood in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, falling 49-5. The contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Waite was down 26-2.
