Recap: Airport Eagles vs. Westside Rams
The Airport Eagles fell victim to the Westside Rams''s stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were outmatched by the Rams on the road and fell 42-0. While losing is never fun, Airport can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 119th, while Westside is ranked 15th).
Leading Westside to victory were Joshua Williams and Cutter Woods. Williams picked up 141 receiving yards and two touchdowns, while Woods threw for 278 yards and three touchdowns while completing 83.3% of his passes. Woods hasn't dropped below three passing touchdowns for five straight games. Jameson Wilson also deserves a mention for his punt return touchdown.
Airport has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-6 record this season. As for Westside, the victory was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-1.
Airport does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Westside will face off against York at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
