Football Recap: Wolfe City Takes a Loss + How To Watch

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Wolfe City can now relate to. They fell just short of the De Leon Bearcats by a score of 30-28 on Friday. Despite 77 more yards than the Bearcats, the Wolves couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.

When it comes to explaining why Wolfe City lost, don't look at Hd Davis. Despite the final result, he rushed for 277 yards and four touchdowns. Davis' rushing production has been exceptional for a while as that marked his 22nd straight game with at least 110 rushing yards dating back to last season.

De Leon's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Colt Schwertner, who rushed for 69 yards and one score. Max Jones got in on the action too, returning a kick for a touchdown.

Wolfe City is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-6. As for De Leon, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.

Wolfe City does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for De Leon, they will challenge Frankston at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bearcats will need to watch out since the Indians have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
