Texas (7-3) found success last week, but it has a real challenge ahead. This Saturday it takes on Highland Park (9-1) in the first playoff game of the year. Each team will be battling to keep its win streak alive, with Texas having won five in a row and Highland Park nine.

Last week, Texas took on Pine Tree. Texas got off to a good start with a 35-point offensive effort in the first half. That gave them a 35 - 13 advantage at the half. The offense kept at it in the second half and scored another 21. In the end, Texas steamrollered its way to an easy 56 - 13 victory.

Meanwhile, Highland Park can now show off six landslide victories after its most recent game. It dominated last week, steamrollering Wylie East 42 - 7. One of the main ringleaders for Highland Park was senior John stehpen Jones, who threw for 298 yards and five touchdowns. This sound performance was nothing new for Jones, who has been a rock for Highland Park in the past seven games. Senior Scully Jenevein was in the mix too, providing Highland Park with two touchdowns.

There could be some fireworks in this game: Texas has finished with big points in its past five games; likewise, Highland Park has had high scores in its last three.
