Baseball Recap: Mica Mountain Takes a Loss

Mica Mountain dropped their record down to 10-11-1 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins at home. They came up short against the Salpointe Catholic Lancers, falling 14-0. The matchup marked the first time this season in which the Thunderbolts were not able to get on the board.

Mica Mountain saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ethan Hunt, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

As for Salpointe Catholic, their record now sits at 19-3-1. Considering they have won 14 games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

On Salpointe Catholic's side, Anthony Milo was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave Milo a new career-high. Anthony Diaz also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Coming up, Mica Mountain will square off against Sahuaro at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Thunderbolts are facing the Cougars at the right time seeing as the Cougars are stuck on an 11-game losing streak. As for Salpointe Catholic, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Rio Rico at 6:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Lancers 2.6, the Hawks 4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
