Basketball Recap: Concord Christian Academy Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Concord Christian Academy and Chestertown Christian Academy squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Concord Christian Academy had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Chestertown Christian Academy Patriots by a score of 54-52. The Minutemen were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Patriots earlier this season, when they won 52-47.

Concord Christian Academy's loss came despite strong showings from Gabriel Franco and Keavon Bailey - HS. Franco went 9-for-18 on his way to 19 points, while Bailey - HS went 7-for-9 to rack up 15 points and four steals. Franco continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was David Acevedo, who posted eight points and five boards.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Chestertown Christian Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Craig Clark, who went 7-for-15 en route to 19 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals. That's the most points Clark has posted since back in January of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Brian Lloyd, who went 6-for-14 to rack up 21 points and three steals.

Concord Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Chestertown Christian Academy, their record now sits at 5-6.

Concord Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Chestertown Christian Academy, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 56-50 victory against Calvary Christian Academy on the 20th.
