Volleyball Recap: Evangelical Christian Comes Up Short

Evangelical Christian lost against LaBelle back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Sentinels fell just short of the Cowboys/Cowgirls by a score of 3-2.

Evangelical Christian wouldn't go down easily and took LaBelle into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking six-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 25-16, 25-22, 11-25, 15-9.

Autumn Worley paced Evangelical Christian's offense, picking up 14 kills. Worley got some help from Reese Pool and her 19 assists. Olivia Holt controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Evangelical Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 5-2. As for LaBelle, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Evangelical Christian will square off against Babcock at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for LaBelle, they will take on Sebring at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Blue Streaks will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Cowboys/Cowgirls surely won't give up without a fight.
