Softball Recap: Jackson Snags Ninth Win in Last Ten Games

With a playoff win on the line, Jackson rose to the challenge on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Dale County Warriors as they made off with a 9-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Aggies, who have now won 23 matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Zoey Rooks made a splash no matter where she played. She pitched seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, Kemaria Small was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Autumn Rocker, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double.

Jackson is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 29-8 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Dale County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 27-14.

As of now, neither Jackson nor the Warriors have any future games scheduled.
