Basketball Game Preview: Mesa Jackrabbits vs. McClintock Chargers + Official Tickets

The Mesa Jackrabbits will challenge the McClintock Chargers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Mesa took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They walked away with a 73-64 victory over Basha.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mesa to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jakyi Miles, who went 8-for-13 to rack up 22 points along with six boards and five assists. Miles' evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 22 points. Another player making a difference was Brig Bowden, who almost dropped a double-double with 13 points and nine rebounds.

Meanwhile, McClintock didn't have quite enough to beat Carl Hayden Community on Thursday and fell 66-63. The Chargers haven't had much luck with the Falcons recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Mesa is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. As for McClintock, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5.

Everything came up roses for Mesa against McClintock when the teams last played back in December of 2024, as the team secured an 81-52 win. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was the Chargers' Kyler Frye, who shot 56% from the field on his way to 28 points. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will the Jackrabbits still be able to contain Frye? There's only one way to find out.
