Softball Recap: Oak Mountain Comes Up Short

Oak Mountain lost to Vestavia Hills back in March and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Eagles fell just short of the Rebels by a score of 2-1.

Marian Cummings spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on eight hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Oak Mountain saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hallie Kelly, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

Oak Mountain's loss dropped their record down to 12-12. As for Vestavia Hills, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 24-3.
