Softball Recap: Marshall Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Marshall took on Willmar on Monday. The Tigers lost 10-1 to the Cardinals. The Tigers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Cardinals earlier this season, when they won 8-4.

Marshall saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bailynn Parsons, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base. Jaylah Morgan also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

With the loss, Marshall broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-9. As for Willmar, they moved to 4-8 with that victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Marshall will square off against St. Peter at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Saints' pitching crew has only allowed 4.1 runs per game this season, so the Tigers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Willmar, they will face off against Little Falls at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
