Recap: Back of the Yards College Prep Bobcats vs. Kelly Trojans
The Back of the Yards College Prep Bobcats lost against the Kelly Trojans back in November of 2021, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Back of the Yards College Prep took a hard 32-17 fall against Kelly. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Back of the Yards College Prep in their matchups with Kelly: they've now lost three in a row.
Kelly got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Delilah Lopez out in front who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds. Lopez hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Luz Escudero, who scored nine points along with five steals.
Back of the Yards College Prep has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season. As for Kelly, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Back of the Yards College Prep will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Julian at 5:00 p.m. on January 10, 2024. Both teams have allowed few points on average, (Julian: 29.9, Back of the Yards College Prep: 21.6) so any points scored will be well earned. Kelly will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Goode STEM Academy at 5:00 p.m. on January 8, 2024. Goode STEM Academy has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 18.
