Basketball Recap: Baptist Hill Extends Winning Streak to Three

Baptist Hill had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 30 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They snuck past the Branchville Yellow Jackets with a 55-49 victory.

Baptist Hill's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Martrell Wright, who almost dropped a triple-double on 13 points, nine rebounds, and ten assists. Wright is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in the last eight games he's played. Jaden Douglas was another key player, putting up eight points along with nine boards and six assists.

Wright wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Baptist Hill was working as a unit and finished the game with 21 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Branchville only racked up nine assists.

When it comes to explaining why Branchville lost, don't look at Kyran Glover. Despite the final result, he posted 14 points and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Marcus Felder, who made all 5 shots he took to post 10 points.

Baptist Hill has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 11-11 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.4 points per game. As for Branchville, their loss dropped their record down to 6-10.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Baptist Hill will host Lowcountry Leadership at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Branchville has already played their next contest (against Charleston Math & Science), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
