Basketball Recap: Ragsdale Takes a Loss

Ragsdale was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss. They came up short against the Southeast Guilford Falcons, falling 73-47. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, with their most recent defeat being a 64-58 loss back in January.

Despite the loss, Ragsdale still got an impressive performance from Josiah Beatty, who posted 13 points. Another player making a difference was Tamaize Bethea, who put up seven points.

Even though they lost, Ragsdale smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in six consecutive matches.

Byron Arant was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 24 points and 11 boards for Southeast Guilford. The dominant performance gave Arant a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayz Jackson, who had ten points.

Ragsdale's record now sits at 1-19. As for Southeast Guilford, their victory bumped their record up to 7-13.

Ragsdale wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 62-53 defeat against Southwest Guilford on the 7th. As for Southeast Guilford, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 62-59 loss against Northwest Guilford on the 7th.
