Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Phoenix Academy). They were the clear victors by a 9-1 margin over the Piedmont Classical Bobcats on Thursday.

Phoenix Academy's offense was hitting Piedmont Classical from everywhere, as six different players booted in a goal. Allison Shi led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by herself.

Phoenix Academy's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-4-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Phoenix Academy will face off against Jordan-Matthews at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Phoenix Academy will be up against Jordan-Matthews' rather soft defense (which has allowed 5.25 goals per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Piedmont Classical, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Cornerstone Charter Academy at 6:00 p.m. on April 7.
