Football Game Preview: Shiner Comanches vs. Louise Hornets + How To Watch

The Shiner Comanches will venture away from home to square off against the Louise Hornets at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Shiner will come into the contest with an undefeated record on the line.

Shiner is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took their matchup on Friday with ease, bagging a 61-6 victory over Pettus. Given the Comanches' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 346th, while the Eagles are ranked 1171st) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Shiner relied on the efforts of Jace Caddell, who rushed for 197 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 carries, and Quincy Jones, who rushed for 120 yards and three scores.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Shiner was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 372 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Louise's offense. They took a blow against Yorktown on Friday, falling 45-0. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Hornets haven't been shut out since back in August.

Shiner's win bumped their record up to 8-0. As for Louise, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6.

Everything came up roses for Shiner against Louise in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, as the team secured a 68-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Comanches since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
