Softball Recap: North Douglas Continues Home Dominance on Wednesday

North Douglas waltzed into their game on Wednesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Elkton Elks a 9-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for North Douglas, who have now won four contests by nine runs or more so far this season.

North Douglas pushed their record up to 5-1 with the victory, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.9 runs on average over those games. As for Elkton, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Douglas will welcome Lowell at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Devils have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.29 runs per game on average), something North Douglas will no doubt try to take advantage of.
