Baseball Recap: Coastal Christian Centurions vs. Southeastern HomeSchool Cardinals
Coastal Christian had taken Southeastern HomeSchool down for three straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Tuesday. The Centurions came up short against the Cardinals, falling 12-2. The Centurions were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cardinals apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.
Coastal Christian saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hudson Weare, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. Carson Shingleton also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.
This is the second loss in a row for Coastal Christian and nudges their season record down to 2-12. As for Southeastern HomeSchool, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Coastal Christian will take on Liberty Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Heat have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.11 runs per game on average), something the Centurions will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Southeastern HomeSchool, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Harrells Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on the 22nd.
