Softball Recap: Bellmont Makes It Five in a Row on the Road

Bellmont put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. Everything went their way against the Adams Central Flying Jets as they made off with a 23-6 win. The Braves have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Flying Jets, too.

Bella Ashley made a splash while hitting and pitching. She pitched 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run any time she's pitched this season. She was even better at the plate, going 4-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Onalee Krueckeberg was a standout: she fired off three triples, six RBI, and four runs while going 3-for-5. Another player making a difference was Emily Bleke, who scored four runs and stole a base while going 3-for-5.

Bellmont hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least two batters every time they've taken the field this season.

Bellmont pushed their record up to 3-0 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Adams Central, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, Bellmont will venture away from home to face off against Mississinewa at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Adams Central, they will host Shenandoah at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
