If East Surry wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Surry Central, they should've done a better job of containing Tripp Mcmillen. The Surry Central Golden Eagles walked away with a 62-54 victory over the East Surry Cardinals on Friday thanks in part to Mcmillen, who went 10-for-16 to rack up 21 points. The contest was his ninth in a row with at least 15 points.

Jax Whitaker was another key player, putting up eight points. Thanks to that strong game, he now owns an excellent 45.3% shooting accuracy.

When it comes to explaining why East Surry lost, don't look at Braxton Davis. Despite the final result, he went 8-for-16 en route to 19 points and seven rebounds. Davis is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last seven games he's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Carter Motsinger, who posted 13 points and six assists.

Surry Central's record now sits at 18-4. As for East Surry, they now have a losing record of 11-12.

Surry Central has already played their next game, an 89-52 win against Forbush on the 17th. As for East Surry, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 67-48 victory against West Wilkes on the 17th.
