Gilmer County typically has all the answers at home, but on Tuesday Doddridge County proved too difficult a challenge. They had just enough and edged out the Titans 7-5. This was a revenge game for the Bulldogs: when they faced off against the Titans on Thursday, they had to take a 8-6 defeat.

Tessa Mayle spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Brooke Dehaven, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs. Madison Curran was another key player, going 2-for-4 with four RBI and two doubles.

Doddridge County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Gilmer County only posted a batting average of .226.

Doddridge County is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-4 record this season. As for Gilmer County, their loss ended a 14-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 19-6.
