Basketball Recap: Addison Wallen's Big Game Can't Quite Lead West Liberty-Salem over Southeastern Local

If West Liberty-Salem was feeling good fresh off their 55-14 takedown of Catholic Central last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The West Liberty-Salem Tigers received a blow on Saturday as they fell 54-37 to the Southeastern Local Trojans. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 324th, while the Trojans are ranked 143rd).

Several Tigers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Addison Wallen, who posted 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Madeline McGill, who had seven points.

West Liberty-Salem's defeat dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Southeastern Local, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 13-2.

West Liberty-Salem will challenge Northeastern at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. West Liberty-Salem is facing Northeastern at the right time seeing as Northeastern is stuck on a 15-game losing streak. As for Southeastern Local, they will take on Madison Plains at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
