Baseball Game Preview: Delano Tigers vs. Mound-Westonka White Hawks

The Delano Tigers will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Mound-Westonka White Hawks at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Delano will come into the match with an undefeated record on the line.

Delano gave up the first runs on Wednesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They walked away with a 4-1 win over Becker.

Caden Rock was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Rock was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

Rock wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Andrew Bruett, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI.

Meanwhile, Wednesday just wasn't the day for Mound-Westonka's offense. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of St. Francis on Wednesday.

Mound-Westonka also got a good showing from Reese Matheny, who pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits.

Delano pushed their record up to 4-0 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Mound-Westonka, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

Delano came out on top in a nail-biter against Mound-Westonka in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, sneaking past 7-5. Will the Tigers repeat their success, or do the White Hawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
