Michigan Collegiate and Old Redford Academy played the most hotly contested game in Charter this week, with Michigan Collegiate eventually emerging with a 39-36 victory. Rudy Hayes threw for 111 yards and two touchdowns in the win.
The Cougars made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 5,629 from 6,077. The improvement was the result of 39-36 victory over the Ravens last week.
Summit Academy's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Toby Keith Raymond threw for 301 and three touchdowns and Jesse Brown had 146 yards receiving. On the ground Brown chipped in 123 yards. Dionte Logwood helped Summit Academy's passing attack out by catching five balls for 71 yards.
The Dragons' Raymond and Brown have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Raymond has thrown for 1318 yards this season, while Brown has 25 catches for 578 yards. Michigan Collegiate's Larry Bell leads the league in rushing yards with 751.
Two of the top units in the league will face off this week when Alfredo Calderon's team takes on Chandler Park Academy. The Cougars' offense has scored 301 points this season, good for No. 1 in the league, while the Eagles have allowed only 94 on the year.
