Softball Preview: Johnson Warriors vs. Foothill Mustangs        
        
		
            
 Johnson is 3-0 against Foothill since April of 2023, and they'll have a chance to extend that success  on Tuesday. The Johnson Warriors will be playing at home against the Foothill Mustangs at 4:00  p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
 Last Thursday, Johnson got the win against Natomas  by a conclusive  13-1.
 The team  relied heavily on  Naomi Quiroz, who  went 3-for-4 with a  home run, three  runs,  and four  RBI.  Valicianna Collins-Hogan was another key contributor,  going 2-for-3 with a  home run, three  RBI,  and two  runs.
 Meanwhile, Foothill won against Valley  on Tuesday with 20  runs and they decided to stick to that  run total again  on Thursday. Foothill was the clear victor by  a  20-1 margin over Florin. That looming  20-1 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Foothill yet this  season.
  Mercede Averett was  incredible,  going 5-for-4 with a  home run, four  runs,  and two  stolen bases. She continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's  played. The team also got some help courtesy of  Savannah James, who  scored four  runs while  getting on base  in four of her five plate appearances.
 Johnson has  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won six of their last seven games,  which provided a massive bump to their 11-6 record  this season. As for Foothill, the  victory was  the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-8.
 Tuesday's   match will be a test for both team's pitchers. Johnson hasn't had any issues making contact this season,  having earned a batting average of .418. However, it's not like Foothill struggles in that department as   they've  averaged .403. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
 Everything went Johnson's way against Foothill in their previous meeting  back in April as Johnson made off with  a  16-0 win. Will Johnson repeat their success,  or does  Foothill have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
