Volleyball Preview: United Longhorns vs. Eagle Pass Eagles
United is 10-0 against Eagle Pass since September of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Saturday. The United Longhorns will venture away from home to challenge the Eagle Pass Eagles at 12:30 p.m. United is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road.
Last Tuesday, everything went United's way against Medina Valley as United made off with a 3-0 win.
While United won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-22, 25-18.
United can attribute much of their success to Carolina Samaniego, who had 23 digs and 14 kills, and Andrea Fraga, who had 36 digs. Fraga is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in the last 22 games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexi Medrano, who had ten digs, two kills, and two kills.
Meanwhile, Eagle Pass lost 3-0 to Alexander on Tuesday.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-6, 25-9.
United has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 19-6 record this season. As for Eagle Pass, their loss dropped their record down to 3-18.
