Football Game Preview: Maypearl Panthers vs. Pottsboro Cardinals

The Maypearl Panthers will head out to challenge the Pottsboro Cardinals at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

On Friday, Maypearl was able to grind out a solid victory over Groesbeck, taking the game 40-28. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Panthers.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Pottsboro challenged Whitesboro on Friday. The Cardinals walked away with a 32-24 win over the Bearcats. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Cardinals' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 152nd, while the Bearcats are ranked 538th).

The victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 4-6. As for Pottsboro, their win bumped their record up to 9-1.

Maypearl beat Pottsboro 45-37 when the teams last played back in November of 2024. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Cardinals have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
