Baseball Game Preview: Huntington North Vikings vs. Norwell Knights

The Huntington North Vikings will square off against the Norwell Knights at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The timing is sure in Huntington North's favor as the team sits on seven straight wins at home while Norwell has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.

Last Thursday, Huntington North didn't have quite enough to beat DeKalb and fell 5-3.

Huntington North got a good showing from Caiden Pohler, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Pohler has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Huntington North saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cruz Kindler, who went 2-for-4 with two doubles and one run.

Meanwhile, Norwell didn't have quite enough to beat Fort Wayne Snider on Wednesday and fell 5-4.

Huntington North's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 13-5. As for Norwell, their loss dropped their record down to 12-9.
