Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Piute). They blew past the Monticello Buckaroo 27-12 on Tuesday. Considering the Thunderbirds have won six matchups by more than 14 runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Piute let Kenadi King and Ainsley James run wild. King went a perfect 5-for-5 with one home run, five runs, and six RBI, while James scored four runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-4. Those five hits gave King a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Alayna Severe, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

They weren't the only one making solid contact: Piute kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. They got five more hits than Monticello's also-impressive total of 11.

Piute pushed their record up to 7-8 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 23.0 runs over those games. As for Monticello, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.

Coming up, Piute will face off against Wayne at 3:30 p.m. on the 24th. As for Monticello, they will host Pinnacle at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Panthers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 21 runs per game on average), something the Buckaroo will no doubt try to take advantage of.
