Baseball Recap: Umpqua Valley Christian Extends Winning Streak to Eight

Umpqua Valley Christian had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.6 runs) and they went ahead and made it eight on Saturday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Kennedy Trojans. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Monarchs have posted since April 29th.

Umpqua Valley Christian pushed their record up to 22-4 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.6 runs on average over those games. As for Kennedy, their loss ended a 14-game streak of away wins and brought them to 28-4.
