Strom Thurmond won the last time they faced Ninety Six and things went their way on Thursday too. The Strom Thurmond Rebels sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 45-42 win over the Ninety Six Wildcats.

Ninety Six lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Janiyah Squire, who dropped a double-double with 19 points and 13 rebounds. That was a full 45.2% of Ninety Six's points, marking the 16th time in a row Squire has posted more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kenley Collins, who en route to 18 points.

Strom Thurmond's victory bumped their record up to 10-12. As for Ninety Six, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-8.

Strom Thurmond has already played their next matchup, a 37-28 loss against Fairfield Central on the 17th. As for Ninety Six, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 48-45 win against American Leadership Academy on the 14th.
