Baseball Recap: Fort Morgan Takes a Loss

Fort Morgan was the 27-3 winner over Alameda when they last played one another back in April of 2018, but their luck changed this time around. The Mustangs came up short against the Pirates on Saturday, falling 16-4. The Mustangs just can't catch a break and have now endured four defeats in a row.

Fort Morgan saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jadin Carrera, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Fort Morgan's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Alameda, they pushed their record up to 11-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fort Morgan will face off against University at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Bulldogs' pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so the Mustangs' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Alameda, they will challenge Jefferson at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Saints have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.2 runs per game on average), something the Pirates will no doubt try to take advantage of.
