Basketball Recap: Prairie Extends Home Winning Streak to Seven

Prairie hadn't done well against Kelso recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Prairie Falcons walked away with an 82-70 win over the Kelso Hilanders. Given the Falcons' advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 111th, while the Hilanders are ranked 224th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Prairie's victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-6. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.4 points per game. As for Kelso, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-13.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. It'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Prairie Falcons face off against the Tumwater Thunderbirds at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Prairie's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Kelso, they will host Mountain View at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
