Softball Recap: SouthWest Edgecombe Victorious

SouthWest Edgecombe won against Greene Central on Tuesday with 15 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Wednesday. SouthWest Edgecombe didn't even let the Hobgood Charter Raiders on the board, marking SouthWest Edgecombe's second-straight 15-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won three matches by 15 runs or more so far this season.

Mackenzie Rogers was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 11 over four innings pitched. Rogers was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (three).

In other batting news, A'Chonacey Mabry was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Mackenzie Moore, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

The win got SouthWest Edgecombe back to even at 3-3. As for Hobgood Charter, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

SouthWest Edgecombe didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 17-0 victory against Greene Central on the 21st. As for Hobgood Charter, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 14-12 loss against Cape Hatteras on the 20th.
