Basketball Recap: Carey Panthers vs. Dietrich Blue Devils
Carey has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a 66-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Dietrich Blue Devils on Tuesday. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Blue Devils apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2022.

When it comes to explaining why Carey lost, don't look at Preston Wood. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 28 points and 18 rebounds. Dietrich's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. The team also got some help courtesy of Brody Torgerson, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 15 rebounds.
Carey's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 9-3. As for Dietrich, the win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 9-1.
Carey wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 56-42 victory against Richfield on the 9th. As for Dietrich, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 77-53 win against Hansen on the 10th.
