Softball Recap: Dobson Comes Up Short

Dobson extended their losing streak to 16 on Monday, dropping their season record down to 4-22 in the process. They came up short against the Browne Bruins, falling 10-0. The Mustangs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bruins apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2022.

As for Browne, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 17-4. Considering they have won 14 matches by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

For Browne's part, Shyla Vasquez was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. Vasquez has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in 13 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with four RBI.

In other batting news, Browne got a massive performance out of Tunisia Rios, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most runs Rios has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Dania Duran, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases and three runs.

As of now, neither Dobson nor Browne have any future games scheduled.
