Basketball Game Preview: Daniel Lions vs. Seneca Bobcats

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Lions face off against the Bobcats at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Daniel is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 63.8 points per game this season.

On Tuesday, Daniel came up short against Blue Ridge and fell 61-50.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Tristyn Carrington, who almost dropped a double-double with 11 points and nine rebounds. He is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 45% in the last five games he's played. Grayson Clary was another key player, putting up eight points and eight boards.

Even though they lost, Daniel smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in five consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, Seneca waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They were the clear victor by a 66-40 margin over the Devildogs. The Bobcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 21 points or more this season.

Seneca's victory bumped their record up to 17-8. As for Daniel, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 17-8.

Things could have been worse for Daniel, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 71-57 loss to Seneca when the teams last played on Thursday.
