Union City is 8-2 against Maplewood since April of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Bears will be playing in front of their home fans against the Tigers at 8:00 p.m. Union City is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.2 runs per game this season.

Union City's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Iroquois with a sharp 10-0 win. The Bears haven't had any issues with the Braves recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Madison Swan was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Shaelynn Kent, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one run.

Union City was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .476. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Meanwhile, Maplewood fell victim to Cochranton and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They lost 9-0 to the Cardinals. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since May 16, 2023, but that streak is no more.

Maplewood's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Union City, their win bumped their record up to 8-4.

Union City might still be hurting after the 12-5 defeat they got from Maplewood when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Can the Bears avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
