Baseball Recap: Elkhorn North Comes Up Short

Saturday just wasn't the day for Elkhorn North's offense. They fell 4-0 to the Gretna East Griffins on Saturday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wolves of the 3-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Elkhorn North is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 13-11. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Gretna East, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a massive bump to their 14-9 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Elkhorn North will head out to challenge Norris at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Wolves' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Titans have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season. As for Gretna East, they are taking a road trip to face off against Waverly at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The Griffins' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Vikings have averaged an impressive 6.9 runs per game this season.
