Purvis hadn't done well against Our Lady Academy recently (they were 0-6 in their previous six matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Tornadoes had just enough and edged out the Crescents 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Tornadoes have posted since October 18, 2024.

Purvis had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 16-25, 25-19, 15-12.

Madyson Easley paced Purvis' offense, picking up 11 kills. Easley got some help from Presley Long and her 25 assists. Easley also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Ellie Saffle, racking up two apiece.

Purvis' victory bumped their record up to 10-3. As for Our Lady Academy, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-3.

Purvis has already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Oak Grove on the 23rd. As for Our Lady Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Gulfport on the 23rd.
