Baseball Recap: Grafton Triumphs

The Grafton Bearcats beat the Clay-Battelle Cee Bees 5-1 on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bearcats.

Caleb Wilfong made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Chace Kinsey was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April.

Grafton's record is now 21-7. As for Clay-Battelle, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-9.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Grafton will host Tyler at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Clay-Battelle, they will welcome Trinity Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Cee Bees' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Warriors have averaged an impressive 13.2 runs per game this season.
